UNP Colombo District Parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake said his party's parliamentary majority would increase from 122 to 129 today. 

Addressing a press conference at Temple Trees, Karunanatake indicated that a group of UPFA would join the alliance against the purported government today.

The motion to cut off budgetary allocations to the Prime Minister's Office is scheduled to be taken up for a vote in Parliament today. Karunanayake said he was confident that the motion would pass in Parliament with a comprehensive majority. 

"That is why we asked this government to go home without further embarrassment. They have no right to remain in power without a parliamentary majority," Karunanayake added. 

The Parliamentarian also said the purported government would not be able to present their Vote on Account to Parliament to draw money to meet government expense for the first four months of 2019. 

"What the so-called Cabinet has passed is a farce. They have to come to Parliament for approval, but the problem is they cannot come to Parliament without a simple majority," the UNP MP explained.
