President Maithripala Sirisena, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe also attended the meeting along with representatives of their parties .
At the meeting, the UNP had said the party was ready to show a majority even tomorrow. UNP MP Ajith P. Perera said they were ready to come to the Presidential Secretary tomorrow at 10 AM, with 113 MPs.
"They can also present signed affidavits supporting the majority. But the President did not say yes to that proposal, " he said.
Meanwhile, a statement issued by the President's Media Division said President Sirisena informed the party leaders that it was essential to hold a voice vote or a vote via electronic method on the no confidence motion against Rajapaksa, although a voice vote is acceptable according to Standing Orders.
