Speaker Karu Jayasuriya suspended the Parliamentary sessions until 10 am tomorrow as chaos reigned in Parlianenr this evening.
A tense situation occured in Parliament as the newly appointed Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa walked out of the chamber, soon after the House voted to suspend Standing Oders.
Parliament was all set to debate the motion presented by the JVP challenging the legitimacy of the government led by Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The majority of Parliamentarians voted to suspend Standing Orders indicating the new government had no Parliamentary majority.
