Former President and newly-appointed Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa today held a meeting with the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama, an Islamic representative body.
Sources close to Rajapaksa said the discussion centred around the issues concerning the Muslim community in the country.
The discussion took place against a backdrop where several ultra-nationalist Sinhala Buddhist organizations have extended their support to Rajapaksa.
Minister Faizssr Mustapha and Prof. G.L. Peiris, the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, also attended the discussion.
