UNP Parliamentarian Rajitha Senaratne said they would not stop their struggle for democracy until Ranil Wickremesinghe became the Prime Minister of the country again.
Speaking to party supporters near Independence Square during the vehicle parade organized by the party earlier today, Senaratne said they would regain the 'democracy' the President robbed them of.
"It is appalling that the same President whom we brought to power has robbed us of our democracy," Senanaratne added.
He said his party would not stop the battle halfway and would continue fighting until normalcy is restored in the country.
However, President Sirisena has made it clear that he will not remain in his position for even an hour if Ranil Wickremesinghe became the Prime Minister.
The UNP held a vehicle parade from the Galle Face Green to Parliament roundabout as the political instability and constitutional crisis entered into the 13th day.
The crisis is likely to prevail until the legislature takes a floor vote on November 14 to determine who holds the majority in Parliament.
