UPFA Parliamentarian Lasantha Alagiyawanna today dismissed rumours of a possible crossover and assured his conttinued support for President Maithripala Sirisena and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. 

In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Alagiyawanna says he is currently overseas attending to an important family matter. 

He said he rejected all media reports speculating his crossover "with contempt."

Alagiyawanne, former Deputy Minister of Finance and Media, said he would continue to support the policies of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and stand with its leadership. 

He blamed social media channels, operated by people with political interests, for spreading false information.
