A United National Party (UNP) parliamentarian and a group of party supporters were seen merry-making at the main conference hall at Temple Trees today, amidst a growing political crisis in the country.
UNP MP Ajith P. Perera was seen at the heart of a group, sitting gustily along to popular baila tunes, accompanied clapping revellers around him.
MPs and supporters have been thronging to Temple Trees ever since President Maithripala Sirisena arbitrarily dismissed UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe from his post on October 26.
Wickremesinghe has refused to vacate Temple Trees until it is proved in Parliament that he does not enjoy the confidence of the majority.
