The Janatha Vumikthi Peramuna (JVP) launched a discussion with the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) today on a possible joint strategy to defeat former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's attempt to legitimize his appointment as the Prime Minister.
The two parties also discussed the possibility of convening Parliament early, despite the President's gazette notification to convene the House on November 14.
JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Parliamentarian Bimal Rathnayake and K.D. Lal kantha attended meeting on behalf of the JVP.
The TNA was represented by Opposition Leader R. Sampanthan and Parliamentarian M.A. Sumanthiran.
