Former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa held a discussion with UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe at Temple Trees last evening. 

The meeting remained a secret even to the closest associates of Rajapaksa and Wickremesinghe, until the last moment. 

The discussion has centred around the security of Wickremesinghe, sources close to both parties confirmed. 

They added that the discussion between Wickremesinghe and the former Defence Secretart was "warm and cordial". 

Wickremesinghe made it clear that he would remain at Temple Trees until a vote is taken in Parliament, a source familiar with the matter told Asian Mirror.
