The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna will hold a protest rally in Nugegoda today, against the appointment of Mahinda Rajapaksa as the new Prime Minister. 

JVP sources said the protest would commence at 3 pm, with the participation of several leaders of the partu, including Anura Kumara Dissanayake. 

The party alleges that the appointment of Rajapaksa as the Prime Minister is unconstitutional and the current political crisis should be resolved through Parliament. 

They will also protest against the President's decision to prologue Parliament till November 16 claiming that it has crippled the functioning of the legislature.
