A Media Secretary at a prominent ministry has been sacked following allegations that he sexually abused a 14-year-old girl.

The victim, sources said, is the daughter of an employee working at the same ministry.

The Ministry sources confirmed that the official had been sacked with immediate effect under the directives from the Minister. 

However, no Police action has been so far taken on the matter. 

The Media Secretary, it is learnt, has worked with several influential ministers in the current government as well as in the previous government.
