Former head of the TID, DIG Nalaka Silva arrived at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) this morning for the third day of questioning.
Silva has so far been questioned by the CID for 18 hours, in two days, over an alleged conspiracy to kill President Maithripala Sirisena.
The DIG, who has been suspended from service temporarily, left the CID premises a short while who after a long day of questioning.
Police sources said the CID question him again, on another day, over the same matter. The date of the next round of questioning has not been announced yet.
The DIG did not give any media statement before leaving the CID premises tonight. He also avoided the press and TV cameras that were desperately waiting to catch a glimpse of the controversial Police officer.
The CID's questioning came in the wake of an inquiry conducted by the Government Analyst into the voice clips released by Namal Kumara, a man identified as Police informant and a former employee of the Presidential Secretariat.
