Finance and Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera announced another fuel price hike, a short while ago, resulting in a continuous upward march in prices of Petrol and Diesel for three months.
According to today's hike, the price of Petrol 92 increased by Rs 6 to Rs 155 and Petrol 95 was increased by Rs 8 to Rs 169.
The price of Super Diesel increased by Rs 8 to Rs 141. The Finance Ministry also added that Auto Diesel price would be kept unchanged the formula warranted an increase of by Rs 11.
According to the fuel price formula introduced by Samaraweera, prices of Petrol and Diesel are revised on the 10th day of every month.
However, speaking to media yesterday, Samaraweera said even he could not understand how the fuel price formula worked.
