Daily operations at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital came to a halt today as the doctors clashed over parking space for their vehicles.
The clash sparked when two doctors parked their vehicle in the parking space allocated for specialist doctors, this morning.
The incident has led to a dispute between the special doctor and the other two doctors resulting in the latter's withdrawal from their daily work.
In support of the two doctors who withdrew from work, the other doctors too had followed suit, bringing the daily treatment at the hospital to a grinding halt.
The doctors' withdrawal from work has been sanctioned by the Government Medical Officers Associations (GMOA), Asian Mirror learns.
As a result of the sudden action by doctors, many patients who visited the hospital today for routine clinics and treatment were severely inconvenienced.
