None of the players of the Sri Lankan cricket team has fixed matches in the past 10 years, former SLC President Thilanga Sumathipala said.
Speaking to media in Colombo yesterday, Sumathipala said the attacks against players and cricket administrators over match-fixing are malicious and baseless.
He added the ICC never investigated any player or cricket administrator over match-fixing.
Hitting out at Sports Minister Faizser Mustapha for raising the issue of match-fixing, Sumathipala said the Minister was aiming for petty political gains.
Instead of politicking, Sumathipala said, the Sports Minister should support those who are trying hard to uplift the standards of Sri Lankan cricket.
When asked about revelations made by Al Jazeera, Sumathipala said the same international media network tarnished Sri Lanka's reputation during the time of war.
Sumathipala said the Al Jazeera documentary on match-fixing in Sri Lanka was an attempt to a sling mud at the country.
