President Maithripala Sirisena is considering another Cabinet reshuffle to bring UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake and UPFA MP Dayasiri Jayasekera into the Cabinet, Asian Mirror learns. 

A few ministerial portfolios are expected to be shuffled to make way for Karunanayake and Jayasekera, informed government sources said. 

The UNP had requested the President several times to re-appoint Karunanayake to the Cabinet as he had not been implicated in the Treasury bonds fiasco. 

However, the MP had to step down from his ministerial portfolio due to his questionable affiliations and business deals with Arjuna Aloysius, the owner of Perpetual Treasuries. 

Jayasekera had to quit the unity government as he voted against the Prime Minister at the no-confidence vote in April, this year. 

He then became a member of the '15 group' formed by SLFP MPs who left the government after the no-confidence vote to join the opposition.

After a few  weeks, however, Jayasekera crept back into President Sirisena's faction, beaking away from the '15 group'. 

President Sirisena recently re-appointed him as the Co-Chair of the Kurunegala District Development Committee meeting, replacing '15 Group' MP Anura Priyadarshana Yapa.
