Popular singer and comedian Ronnie Leitch has passed away in Perth, Australia, early this morning.
Leitch had been 65 at the time of his demise due to a sudden illness.
Sources close to him said the singer traveled to Australia to attend a musical show and he was scheduled to return to the country this evening.
His carer spanned for nearly four decades and he was a much-loved personality among music lovers in Colombo.
He often performed with Gypsies, a popular band formed by Sunil Perera, although he never became a permanent member of the music band. He also sung many duets with Corrine Almeida.
In addition to his music career, Leitch also appeared in several films and teledramas.
