Court has permitted the CID to obtain voice samples of Namal Kumara, the man at the centre of an alleged controversy to kill President Maithripala Sirisena, and get them tested by the Government Analyst. 

Kumara, the self-proclaimed Operational Director of an organization called Anti-corruption Brigade, recently released some audio clips relating to the alleged conspiracy. 

He accused former TID Chief DIG Nalaka Siva of being the main architect of the assassination plot. 

 However, the CID is currently in the process of ascertaining the authenticity of the evidence produced by Kumara.
