Beleaguered Police chief Pujith Jayasundara is to leave for a special training at Scotland yard, on Saturday, Asian Mirror learns..

Along with the Police Chief, Law and Order Deputy Minister Nalin Bandara and several other senior ministry officials are expected to leave for the United Kingdom.

The programme at Scotland Yard focuses on transforming the Police force and developing community networks to support it's functioning.

The Police Chief's visit to Scotland Yard amid a high-profile investigation against him, sanctioned by Law and Order Minister Ranjith Maddumabandara. 

IGP Jayasundara has come under fire for his alleges connection with the controversial DIG Nalaka Perera who is currently facing a CID inquiry.
