After a dismal performance with bat and bowl, Sri Lanka was knocked out of Asia Cup yesterday, in less than three days after the first match of the tournaments. 

This was the first time Sri Lanka, five time winners of Asia Cup, crashed out of the tournament without even playing against India and Pakistan. 

Also, this was the first time Sri Lanka was knocked out of Asia Cup in less than three days into the tournament. 

Sri Lanka was knocked out of the series, even before India played its first match. The Indian team, led by stand-in captain Rohith Sharma, will play their first match against Hong Kong tonight. 

Last night's defeat was Sri Lanka's first ODI defeat to Afghanistan , the newest full member of the ICC. 

This was also the first time Sri Lanka did not manage to get past 160 in a cricket tournament. None of the Sri Lankan batsmen managed to score a half century in the two matches they played against Bangladesh and Afghanistan. 

With Sri Lanka out of the tournament, Bangladesh and Afghanistan have qualified to play the next round of the tournament- with India and Pakistan.
