Three massive dumps of garbage created by the Rajapaksa administration fell on the current government, President Maithripala Sirisena said.
Addressing the opening of a housing scheme in Kolonnawa, the President said the government managed to rise its head above all three garbage dumps.
"They were the Meethotamulla garbage dump, the SAITM issue and the international human rights issue," he said.
"All these garbage dumps fell on our heads," Sirisena said.
The President said his government should not be held responsible for creating these issues, and attributed them to his predecessor, Mahinda Rajapaksa's govenrment.
He also added that resolving the housing issue in the country was a main priority for the government.
