Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Galagodaaththe Gananasara Thera has been transferred back to the Sri Jayawardenapura Teaching Hospital from the Prison Hospital. 

Prison Hospital sources said the controversial monk who is currently serving a 06 year sentence was sent back to the Sri Jayawardenapura Hospital this morning. 

The reason for this transfer is still a closely guarded secret. However, sources close to Gnanasara Thera said it had to be dons as the monk required "close medical attention."

A day before his verdict by the Court of Appeal Ganansara Thera was admitted to the Sri Jayawardenapura hospital for a surgery. 

After the surgery, however, he was transferred to the Prison Hospital under strict security measures.
