Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa have joined the 'Jana Balaya Kolambata' protest, a short while ago. 

The duo joined the protest march at the Fort railway station. 

They are now progressing towards the Lake House roundabout in an open vehicle with their supporters to join the main rally, our reporters said. 

In addition to Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, the main organizer of the campaign, his younger brother Yoshitha Rajapaksa too was seen among the protesters. 

As of now, it looks like the main rally of the Joint Opposition protest will take place at the Lake House roundabout. 

Many MPs representing the Joint Opposition said the protesters will stay in Colombo overnight. 

Severe traffic is reported in many parts of Colombo as protesters are marching towards the Lake House roundabout in large groups.
