In an interesting turn of events, the Prime Minister's Office of Sri Lanka has sent a birthday wish to an artiste who passed away nearly two years ago.
The birthday wish, sent on an official letter head of the Prime Minister's Office, is signed by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The birthday wish has been sent to Sunil Wimalaweera, a song writer and an announcer, who passed away in December, 2016.
Wimalaweera's daughter, Abhisheka Wimalaweera too is a popular songstress in Sri Lanka. She shared the letter the family received from the Prime Minister's office, saying "I don't know what to say."
In his birthday wish, the Prime Minister has wished the deceased artiste good health and a long life.
The letter, however, has been sent when Prime Minister Wickremesinghe is in Vietnam on an official visit.
