National Organizer of SLFP Duminda Dissanayake predicted that none of the MPs of the Joint Opposotion would become independent in Parliament
"If they do that they will lose their MP seats. They too are aware of this risk," Dissanayake said.
"Therefore, they will not become independent until the end of the term of the current Parliament," Dissanayake said.
All MPs of the Joint Opposition got elected to Parliament on the UPFA ticket.
Legal experts have pointed out that they cannot demand the Opposition Leader's post in Parliament unless they become an independent group in Parliament.
