An absconding suspect in the abduction and disappearance of 11 youths in Colombo, Chandana P. Hettiarachchi aka 'Navy Sampath' has been arrested by the CID, Asian Mirror reliably learns. 

At the time of the arrest, Sampath had been employed as a watchman at an estate in the Dompe area. 

He was previously a Lieutenant Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy.

Police said the suspect had changed his appearance to avoid arrest. The Polcie had also recovered a forged ID in his possession. 

'Navy Sampath' is also a suspect in the murder of former TNA Parliamentarian Nadaraja Raviraj.
