Saranga Pathirana has been appointed the Chairman of the Professional Sports Journalists Association of Sri Lanka. 

He is currently the head of Sports News at Hiru TV, owned by ABC Media Network. 

A former athlete, he has vast experience as a professional sports journalist in Sri Lanka. 

The Professional Sports Journalists Association is a representative body for all sports journalists working with various media institution in the country.
