Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera has admitted himself to a hospital in Colombo a day before the verdict on his case by the Court of Appeal.
BBS sources said Ganasara Thera had been hospitalized for a "surgery".
Gnanasara Thera was convicted for contempt of court by the Homagama Magistrate last month and was sentenced to a 3 months Rigorous Imprisonment.
He was later released on bail pending the verdict of the Court of Appeal.
Gnanasara Thera was prosecuted for threatening missing journalist Prageeth Ekneligoda's wife, Sandya Ekneligoda, within the Homagama Magistrate's Court premises.
