A heated argument had erupted between Ministers Rauff Hakeem and Rishad Bathiudeen at the Cabinet meeting yesterday, Asian Mirror learns.
Political sources said the argument erupted over a committee overlooking resettlement in the North and the Eastern provinces.
Hakeem had said he had been left out of the committee in an unfair manner.
Responding to Hakeem, Bathiudeen had said he would resign from the committee if President Maithripala Sirisena included Hakeem's name.
Bathiudeen had stated Hakeem had no reason to get involved in the committee's work as the latter represented the Kandy district.
Both Hakeem and Bathiudeen are minor coalition partners of the current government.
