Sri Lanka Cricket, the apex cricket governing body in the country, has appointed former Test captain Hashan Tillekeratne as the coach for the national Under 19 team.
Sri Lanka Cricket said the appointment would be effective until the next Under 19 World Cup, which is due to be held 2020.
Tillekeratne, who was a member of Sri Lanka’s World Cup winning squad in 1996, recently qualified as a Level 2 and 3 Coach with ICC Global.
His was previously head coach of the Galle Team, went on to champion several contest under him.
Tillekeratne has represented Sri Lanka in 83 Tests and 200 ODIs and played four worlds cups. He also captained the country’s test team in 2004.
