The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Central Committee met this morning to make key changes to the party’s hierarchy.

The party also appointed an advisory board, consisting former Presidents Mahinda Rajapaksa, and Chandrika Kumaratunga and former Prime Minister D. M. Jayaratne.

Sarath Amunugama, Mahinda Amaraweera, Shan Wijelal, Dayasiri Jayasekera, Sumedha G. Jayasena and Piyasena Gamage were appointed Vice Presidents of the party, together with A.H. M. Fowzie, Vijith Vijayamuni De Soysa, Reginold Cooray, Mahinda Samarasinghe, Dilan Perera, and Angajan Ramanadan.

Nimal Siripala de Silva, Susil Premajayantha, W.D.J. Seneviratne and Anura Pridarshana Yapa were meanwhile temporarily appointed Senior Deputy Chairmen.

S.B Dissanayake was appointed as SLFP Treasurer, while Professor Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa was temporarily appointed SLFP general secretary and Duminda Dissanayake temporarily appointed SLFP national organiser.
