The Department of Railways has requested all its technical staffers who are currently on strike to report to work immediately.
The Department said those who failed to report to work would be considered to have vacated their positions.
The trade union action launched by technical staffers yesterday caused delays in railways services.
Railway workers attached to the Railway Technical Services Trade Union Committee began their 48-hour strike yesterday.
Over 12, 000 employees have pledged to participate in the strike, the Chairman of the Railway Technical Services Trade Union Committee said.
The strikers are making three demands of the government, one of which include an increase in pay.
