The body of the Police officer who was washed away while attempting to rescue flood victims in Madampe has been recovered this morning. 

Dilan Sampath, a Police Constable, was 26 at the time of his untimely demise. 

He has been posthumously promoted o the rank of Sergeant by Sri Lanka Police.
