South African Superstar AB De Villiers Retires From International Cricket: Ends Sterling 14 Year Career

South African Cricketer A.B. De Villiers has announced retirement from all forms of international cricket. 

Divilliers is currently in India playing franchise cricket for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL)'

In a video message, the 34-year-old batsman opined the 'the time is right' for him to hang up his boots, bringing a close to a sterling 14-year career.

"I have decided to retire from all international cricket with immediate effect," de Villiers said on Wednesday (May 23). "After 114 Test matches, 228 ODI's and 78 T20 Internationals, it is time for others to take over. I have had my turn, and to be honest, I am tired," de Villiers said.

The South African has accumulated a staggering 20,014 international runs and averages over 50 in both Tests and ODIs.
