Senor DIG  D.W.R.B Senevirathne has been appointed the acting Senior DIG in charge of the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID). 

Senevirathne previously functioned as the head of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

Senevirathne succeeds Senior DIG Ravi Waidyalankara who has not been granted a service extension. 

Waidyalankara, according to Police sources, was not given an extension on the basis that there were two investigations against him.
