The Government Medical Officers Association will launch a one-day strike on May 17 against the Free Trade Agreement with Singapore.
The date was announced at a special press conference held by the GMOA this morning.
The GMOA said the trade union action would be launched due to fears that the FTA would allow Singaporeans to enter into the job market of Sri Lanka.
In addition to the FTA with Singapore, the proposed Kotelawala National Defence University (KNDU) Bill has also raised concerned among doctors.
