SLFP stalwart A.H.M. Fowzie took oaths as the State Minister of National Unity and National Reconciliation, a short while ago. 

Fowzie, a senior member of the SLFP, did not take oaths when other new state and deputy ministers took oaths earlier this month. 

Meanwhile, Ariya B. Rekawa also took oaths as the new Governor of the Uva Province. 

Rekawa, a senior lawyer, was appointed a President's Counsel, last year.
