All media heads of the government have been instructed to resign from their current positions before May 14, informed government sources said. 

They added that all institutions coming under the Ministry of Media would undergo drastic changes. 

It is learnt that Rupavahini Chairman Ravi Jayawardena and ITN Chairman Saman Athaudahetty are likely to be replaced before the end of this month. 

Athaudahetty would back to his previous role as the Propaganda Chief of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. 

It has also been revealed two media heads of the government have requested to stay on in their current positions.
