While President Maithripala Sirisena is planning to issue a special statement at the inauguration of the new Parliamentary session on May 08, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe too is planning to deliver an economic policy statement in Parliament next week. 

Both speeches, according to informed political sources, will focus on the economic roadmap of the government for the next 18 months. 

A debate on the President's statement will be held on May 10. 

The Prime Minister has so far delivered three economic policy statements in Parliament.
