The Meteorological Department of Sri Lanka has issued a Heat Weather Advisory for Kilinochchi, Mullativu, Vavuniya and Trincomalee Districts.

The Department, in a statement, said caution level is expected in some parts of those districts. 

The department issued a similar advisory for the Northern, North Central, Eastern, Uva and North Western provinces two days ago, warning citizens to take precautions to avoid fatigue and heat cramps.

The districts of Matale and Hambantota were also on alert, the Met. Department said.

The Met. Department advised people to stay hydrated and takes breaks in the shade as often as possible, check up on the elderly and the sick, refrain from leaving children unattended in vehicles and limit strenuous outdoor activities.
