Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka has been appointed the Minister of Wildlife and Sustainable Development. 

He previously held the position of Minister of Regional Development. 

Ravi Samaraweera, who held the position of Wildlife Minister previously, has been transferred as the Minister of Labour and Trade Union Relations. 

Earlier, the UNP suggested to appoint Fonseka as the Minister of Law and Order. President Maithripala Sirisena, however, shot down the idea and appointed Ranjith Maddumabaandara as the Law and Order Minister.
