The SLFP MP group who voted against Prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at the no-confidence motion has requested the General Secretary of Parliament ro arrange seats for them to sit in the opposition.
The 16 MPs, according to political sources, had made the request early this morning.
However, the group had officially informed the Sri Lanka Freedom Party that they would continue to work with the party and extend their support to President Maithripala Sirisena.
They will also continue to hold positions in the SLFP. They even attended the Central Committee meeting held at the President's official residence, a few days ago.
