The President's Media Unit yesterday denied claims that President Maithripala Sirisena's delegation to London consisted of 120 members.
Issuing a statement, the PMU said apart from President Sirisena and his wife, the official delegation consisted of several Cabinet Ministers including Ministers Thilak Marapana, Nimal Siripala de Silva, the President's personal physician and the President's official translator.
In addition to that, it said, some members of the President's media team and group of journalists representing state and private media stations were also taken to London.
Sources close to President Sirisena vehemently denied claims that actress Gihani Weerasinghe was taken to London as a member of the President's delegation.
The photographs the actress had taken in London with Sri Lankan lawmakers went viral over the past few days.
