The Senior Laboratory Controller attached to the rubber factory in Wellapitiya, Horana was arrested by the Police today.

His arrest follows the arrest of the Manager of the Horana rubber factory on April 19 in the aftermath of the accident that resulted in the death of 5 individuals.

The incident occurred after an employee died after falling into a vat of ammonia while cleaning the tank. Four others died trying to rescue him.

 Ten other were also affected by the ammonia and rushed to the hospital. Investigations are still underway.
