The Ceylon Electricity Board Engineers Union decided to launch a work to rule campaign from May 8 aimed at accomplishing several demands.
They made the decision after a discussion held with Power and Energy Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya at the ministry yesterday.
They earlier planned to launch the union action on April 20, but later postponed it to May 08.
During the discussion, the Minister promised to look into the grievances presented by the engineers union.
However, speaking to Asian Mirror, a senior member of the union said the government had been given even sufficient time to respond to the demands of the CEB engineers.
