The Sri Lanka Freedom Party, led by President Maithripala Sirisena, is to hold a crucial Central Committee meeting today at 7 pm.
At the meeting, the party is expected to make a final decision on continuing in the unity government with the UNP.
This comes in the wake of 15 SLFP MPs voting against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe during the no-confidence vote last week.
The UNP has officially informed the President that they could not continue in the government with the SLFP members who voted against the Prime Minister.
