The debate on the no-confidence motion brought against the Prime Minister by the Joint Opposition began at 10 am at the Parliament today.
A vote on the no-confidence motion is expected at 9.30 tonight.
The Joint Opposition accuses the Prime Minister of economic mismanagement the past three years, and highlights in particular the Central Bank Treasury bond scandal that occurred during his watch.
While minority parties have pledged their support to the Prime Minister, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and the Joint Opposition continue to stand against him.
