All board of officials of the UNP, except the party leader, are expected to resign from their party positions ahead of major party reforms, informed UNP sources said. 

They added that State minister Eran Wickremeratne had already tendered his resignation from the post of party Treasurer. 

Other board of officials too are likely to follow suit in the coming days.

Youth Affairs and Southern Development Minister Sagalaa Ratnayaka said the new board of officials of the party would be appointed before March 31.
