Foreign Affairs State Minister Wasantha Senanayake today criticized the unity government's cabinet reshuffle saying it was an episode of a comedy drama.
"This was the first episode. The second episode will come soon. I don't know whether we will have to laugh or cry," Senanayake said, speaking to journalists after the swearing in of the new ministers at the Presidential Secretariat, this morning.
Senanayake, who represents the UNP, is a close relative of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
"People indicated that they wanted a change. We have to give them a real change," the State Minister said, alluding to the outcome of the recent Local Government election.
"If we don't do that, they will make the change happen," he added.
When a journalist asked whether he was referring to the need of a new Prime Minister, Senanayake did not give a clear answer.
