The first win for the United National Party at the Local Government polls 2018 was reported from the Addalachchenai Pradeshiya Sabha, in the Ampara district.

The UNP won the Pradeshiya Sabha with 11361 votes with a percentage of 47.37. 

The National Congress came second with 7453 votes and recorded a percentage of 31.07. 

All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) came third with 4384 votes with a percentage of 18.28. 

The Sri Lanka Podujana Party only managed to get 779 votes with 2.25%.
